Future Surgeon?
Annalee eats well with a fork and has since she was a year old, but that doesn't mean she doesn't also enjoy grabbing food with her hand and stuffing it in her mouth from time to time. Having known the physical comfort that eating with silverware provides, however, she finds having tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese, and/or mashed potatoes on her hand after each bite to be unseemly. Thus, she holds up a less-than-pristine hand to whichever parent is nearest (if it's her right hand, then Mommy; if the left, then Daddy) and lets one of us clean it with a napkin in preparation for the next foray to the plate.
What are we going to do -- act like it's not fun?
