A Mysterious Disappearance

Baby has grown fond of baths. It’s not that she was ever unhappy about them, but she’s slightly happier about them by the month. Today, I experimented by putting an expensive baby product in the bathwater, as per the instructions on the bottle, and it turned out that it was basically bubble bath. It also turned out that baby is not fond of bubble baths. I thought at the time that it was the presence of the bubbles obscuring the surface of the water that disturbed her, and it may have been that. But as I sit here at the end of the day I’m thinking that the bubbles made everything below the surface of the water disappear, including the rest of baby, and that she might have been frightened by that. Regardless, her bath time was abbreviated, to about a minute and ten seconds. As always, she seemed happy afterwards.
