A Debut

I couldn’t keep myself from bringing baby to a community meeting tonight, in part because the meeting meant a lot to me and didn’t want to leave baby with anyone else, and in part because I wanted to show off my bundle of joy. She was as joyful and connected there as she has been anywhere, making eye contact with person after person, smiling and laughing just about the whole time. I was told afterward how blessed I am.

For the record, today’s teething trauma was less. Gum gel, homeopathic tablets, teething ring time, knuckle biting time, and three or four hundred distractions (including the meeting) did the trick. Thank God for answered prayers.
