The Miracle of Napping

After a big day yesterday, an interrupted nap this morning (and many others of late, owing to house calls by everyone from contractors to moving salespeople), and a lot of stress around at home generally, baby took a three hour nap this afternoon – an hour in her crib and two hours on dad’s chest. When she finally woke up, she was momentarily groggy, but then she was the happiest and most relaxed I had seen her in many days and I felt so relieved. We played together, went to the park together, did the dinner shopping together, and enjoyed just being together, doing not much of anything. It’s not impossible that the two hours of semi-dozing with baby on my chest may have done me some good, too.
