Still Melting

I estimate that baby spent, in total, two and a half weeks happily crawling around the floor before getting vertical – standing up – at every opportunity became her defining obsession. It was, of course, amazing to see her crawl (not that she’s through crawling), but it is more amazing still to see her standing up and holding onto whatever is two-feet high in her vicinity (chair legs, couches, human legs, table legs).

Today she went on a quick jaunt to the beach with mom, dad, and the two doggies. She fussed a tiny bit (the sun was exceedingly bright, and we’d forgotten her sunglasses), but as she does so often, she charmed all who wanted to meet and greet her, and there were many. Her enthusiasm at home, meanwhile, exuberant as she seems to be with her new gift of locomotion, was unparalleled and melted my heart a thousand times.
