"Love"

Baby’s vocalizing continues to grow more complex and, sometimes, precise. To my “I love you” this morning, she said, “Love.” She has mimicked the three-beat cadence of “I love you” before (while muffing the words), but today was the most exact pronunciation of the word “love” that her mom and I have heard her do. I like to spend time mimicking the sounds baby makes back to her as closely as I can, but as my wife noticed some of the sounds she makes are not easy to duplicate – even when you make a concerted effort. When it comes to the new realms her speech will soon open, I feel more anticipation than I sometimes think I should.
