Zabba-Zabba-Do

I’m not sure baby will be speaking English anytime soon, but my baby talk is getting pretty close to fluent. “Ba-da-da, da-da-za-di-do,” baby says, and I do my level best to say it back to her, syllable for syllable. “Di-di-di, di-di-da, zah-ah-ah-ah,” she announces with conviction, and, again, I concur with all my heart. Our back-and-forths don’t rise to the level of jazz in a New York club, but they’re good enough for me. And, like I said, I’m learning.
