Taking It In
When I lifted her to look out her nursery’s second-storey window late this afternoon, baby saw evidence of the third snowfall here in the past week. I spoke to her about it, unclear how much of the white world outside she was able to assimilate. Language issues aside, I had the impression she could sense some of the magic of snow. She has certainly seen her father go out the front door and come back with load after load of wood to put in the woodstove. And I trust that the season is making an impression on her in a way that those of us who are not infants cannot understand, at all.
