Where Will Baby Be From?

Baby’s mom, dad, and two dogs have all had (or have) Lyme disease. And it is not impossible that baby will be raised somewhere with less of this horrible illness than there is here in coastal Rhode Island. Lyme is an out-and-out epidemic in Coastal Connecticut, Eastern Long Island, Rhode Island, Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Nantucket, New Hampshire, upstate New York, and Pennsylvania. It’s widespread in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and exists in Asia and Europe (30,000 cases a year are diagnosed in Germany). If we do move, we will be leaving behind innumerable good memories, including and especially the birth of our precious daughter and the first year of her life.

For the record, baby appeared to enjoy riding on a swing at the playground today the most yet, giving her curious dad ample opportunity to check the new teeth coming in – and to appreciate the beautiful smile formed by the four teeth already there.
