Separation Anxiety

Dad got a day of rest and a visit to the acupuncturist today, and baby spent her first day with her cousin, aunt, and grandparents. At six and a half months old, she was probably due to spend some quality time with her mom’s side of the family, but I still felt like a failure for needing the rest. Though she was all of 20 miles away from me, it seemed that she was in China – or farther. My day of separation gave me a much better sense what baby’s mom goes through every day she goes into the office.
