Quite a Person

It turns out baby is going to have some personality. An attentive, Zen-like listener when the situation calls for it, she at other times makes elaborate, adult, faces and then breaks into giggles. She has begun to want to hug her daddy on a regular basis, and it is among the most moving things I have experienced – there is a lot of intention behind her hugs.

Yesterday, I caught her hording organic cheerios in her high chair, eating some but hiding many others beside her with a quick hand movement. She had tiny pieces of home-cooked chicken yesterday, too, and clearly liked it. The curls on the back of her head looked gold under a reading light tonight. I miss her when she goes to bed.
