The Mystery of Sleep

For reasons obvious, and less obvious, today was a no-nap day for baby. She did fall asleep, twice, but both times were as we were arriving somewhere. As we rolled into the driveway at home, she appeared to be starting a sleep that might survive the transition into the house. Mais, non. I’ve been reluctant to give her as much baby Tylenol as we have been of late. My wife’s giving her some now, to help her fall asleep for the night – and she should. But giving it to baby two or three times a day for days and days on end seems like a lot. She never out-and-out fussed today, by the way. The lack of naps could have been teething related, and it could have been a study in bad timing. Either way, she was ready for sleep when mommy came home from work; the two of them promptly hit the hay for two hours. We’ve been trying to get baby down again since 9 this evening; it’s 11 now.
