Snow Stroll

Baby finally got her walk in the snow. I wheeled her stroller through the neighborhood, bonnet covering her face for the most part, at the front end of today’s early March snowstorm. The first half of the walk was magical. Baby could tell the snow was special and that our being out in it together was special. Part of her may have been humoring me, I thought, but another part of her may like snow the way her dad does. The second half of the walk (which is to say the second five minutes) was less enchanting for baby – and thus for me. She’d been due for a nap, and wanted to drift off in her stroller, but the stray snowflakes coming in were too big a distraction. All in all, the walk was just enough of an adventure for both of us. When we got home, she had a smile for her daddy, and he needed nothing else.
