Some of our Best Moments

Baby thinks I’m funny. She thinks my laugh is funny, the faces I make at her are funny, and some of the looks I give her are funny. But the funniest thing she has ever witnessed is her dad telling her, in real earnest, the word “no.” There have been four or five episodes so far when I was not kidding around one bit about what I was saying, knew I needed to set a precedent with parental authority, and laid down the law. “No,” I said, and I looked at baby with as much of a gunfighter’s toughness as I could muster – for real. Well, in each instance, she has stared me right back down, broke into her widest grin, and had me laughing in about four seconds. They’ve been some of our best moments.
