Edelweiss
The strict, anti-TV edict has not been followed. (More about that another day.) Baby watched “The Sound of Music” on television tonight with her parents, laughing and vocalizing all the while. And while I had warmed, slowly, over the course of my life to the winner of the Best Picture Award for 1965, watching it with baby won me over the rest of the way. She couldn’t tell you that the film was about childhood, romance, and – ostensibly – the rise of the Third Reich, but she did appear to bathe in the feel of the movie, and to contribute to it. She’s good that way.
