On Football

We’re not totally sure how baby became a football fan in her first few months of life, though it may have had something to do with her father’s habit of watching the occasional game on TV. From the first game she saw, she has squirmed and vocalized gleefully at meaningful junctures. Tonight, she took in the first half of the Patriots’ playoff game at Denver and, as usual, she held up both arms and yelled with a look of merriment on her face. Going to bed when she did, she has no idea that her team came up short, losing to the stronger Broncos, 27-13. Daddy will do his best not to share the bad news with her in the morning.
