Two More Teeth

Baby’s top teeth have broken the surface of her gums. By the looks of them, they aren’t small teeth. Her smile was beautiful before, and it can only be more so now. We may have done ourselves a disservice giving her homeopathic teething tablets as often as we have to kill the pain; it has been since we stopped giving them to her that the teeth have come in. Our thought is that she may have needed to feel the pressure of the teeth to want to gnaw on her various teething toys and, especially, on the washcloth-wrapped crushed ice we’ve been giving her for months now. As they say, you can’t go around pain; you have to go through it.
