Do the Locomotion

For just the second time, we played “walk to mommy” and “walk to daddy” tonight. Partly, we wanted to see how far along baby was in her development, and partly we wanted to help her along. She had perhaps half a step without contact from mom or dad (while headed toward mom, by the way), but it was a glorious half step, and all three of us were over the moon for the whole session. I’m going to guess that five or six more nights like tonight will get baby to her first official step or two. The image of her feet traipsing and stuttering and stepping across the floor – while one of her arms sought balance points in the air and the other was just barely guided by mom or dad – won’t soon leave me. Let the games begin.
