All Smiles

Baby smiled today – a hundred times. She laughed; she sang. She drank three bottles of (breast) milk, with the manners of a princess. She was beautiful, agreeable, and wise. But she would not nap, not until dad was on the verge of calling it a nap-free day.

When she finally snorted and sniffled her way into unconsciousness in daddy’s arms, and remained unconscious when lowered into the bassinet, daddy tip-toed away as though from a ticking bomb. We all need our rest, after all.
