Pain, Continued

The drool coursing down baby’s chin suggests she’s starting a new round of teething, probably those two upper teeth we’ve been expecting. And, though she’s evidently courageous in her ability to handle pain graciously, she’s suffering. We give her homeopathic tablets and apply gel to her gums and hold her and massage her and sing to her, but we know there’s pain we can’t reach.
