Musical Life

I don’t always manage to do everything for baby that I’d like, being sick and all. We typically manage just one walk a day, for instance, even though a couple would probably be nice. And there are other little “failures” I could recount, even as I know such perfectionism does no one any good. On the other side of the ledger, I hope, are the songs I sing baby. I like to think they’re one reason for the bright light in her eyes. Whether they are or not, I feel blessed to be able to sing so much, and so freely, to her. If she’s confused at age six or seven, comparing notes with friends at school, about the fact that not everyone’s life was set to music, then that will be a good thing to be confused about.
