On the Road Again

Mommy and daddy have just one vehicle, for the time being, in their new locale, and baby is spending less time and more time, alternately, than she is used to riding in the car. For two days this week she spent less, as mom drove to work and baby and I stayed home. The two of us busied ourselves reading, practicing walking, eating, and emptying out cabinets. Today, baby and I drove mom to work and picked her up at the end of the day. In the meantime, we went grocery shopping. After we picked mom up, the three of us drove back to Barton Springs for our second cold plunge in a week. Mom slipped on a an algae-covered patch of underwater stone, and she and baby took their plunge sooner than planned. Baby and mom were both spooked by the tumble, but as the minutes passed, smiles returned to baby's face and she and mommy took turns splashing me. After one last drive, and a couple of more errands, baby's big day on the road came to an end. She enjoyed her dinner of hamburger, corn, and baked beans. Calling for more bites of hamburger and more sips of water several times before she was through.
