A Friend Indeed
Baby, alongside her standard list of joys and sorrows, has been teething actively for a good week and finally cut her eighth tooth today. An intermittent fever, sleeplessness, and fussiness accompanied the tooth’s slow arrival, and I hope she is more comfortable now that it has come through her gums.
When a guest was at the home today, we chose to put our friskier dog, Boo, in a bedroom and shut the door behind him. Generally, we’ll allow him to interact with visitors, but today it was important to have relative peace. Thus the gulag. Baby was not comfortable with the situation, returning to the door several times and pointing to it to let us know her friend was behind it. I would pick her up and distract her as long as she would let me, but she would eventually demand to be put down and walk back to the door and start pointing. Boo is fortunate to have such a friend.
