Five Days' Worth of Changes

Daddy took a 5-day trip, and when he got home he saw that baby had changed. Her smile was more adult; her eyes were able to focus with more attention; her balance had improved. Even at 13 months of age, the changes are that dramatic, and that constant. My welcome-hug was the most meaningful, and had the most intention behind it, of any baby has given. I missed her even more than I knew.
