Never Gets Dull

My precious daughter enjoys eating while walking. We never let her eat anything she could choke on (when walking or any other time), and we keep an eye on her as she makes her tiny circuits around us with a mouthful of food. She makes little grunts of satisfaction as she goes, barely keeping the food in her mouth sometimes through a suppressed smile. Tonight she was sharing a bowl of cheerios with blueberries. I cut the berries into small pieces for her and then put them on the tip of my spoon with a cheerio or two. We’ve enjoyed many such treats, but it never gets dull.

Beautiful Music

It's sad, sometimes, when baby cries. We tend to her as best we can, and she seldom cries for long. When it is my wife is tending to baby and I have the luxury of not panicking over the sound, I can listen to it as the distilled essence of the most important person in my life. And it is a beautiful music -- articulate and tender, simple and complex. My dear child.
