Just a Little Pat on the Back

When accepting a hug, Annalee is, as often as not, giving a hug, too. This generally includes giving a comforting pat on the shoulder or back. Tonight, I drove her to a coffeehouse to drop off a CD and she fell asleep on the way. She didn't visibly awaken when I removed her from her car seat and began to walk toward the entrance, at least not enough to open her eyes and take in where we were, but some little tiny part of her was awake and patted me on the shoulder ever so softly. I hope I never forget it.
