Grace Under Pressure
Baby spent several hours with friends of ours today while we went to a family funeral. When I got to see her again, it was if we’d been parted by time zones, if not oceans. I saw her through the window of her mom’s car, perched in her car seat with a big smile on her face. The moment I freed her, she stretched her arms toward me to give and receive a three-minute hug.
Her first molar has been working its way to the surface for several days now. I want to believe that if I could take the pain she is having to endure instead of her, I would. For the most part, she lives and enjoys life despite her discomfort (we give her what help we can), but every now and then a wave of pain grips her and she visibly reels for a moment or two.
